Introducing ReadiNow Nova

ReadiNow is committed to continual improvement and we are excited to announce our biggest enhancement yet. We have listened to your feedback and look forward to introducing you to the next evolution of ReadiNow called ReadiNow Nova.

ReadiNow Nova is a new user interface paradigm, built from the ground up. Aimed to improve user experience and provide even more flexibility in the configuration of your application.

The Nova Masterplan

Our approach was to think from the ground up, free from restrictions to provide the ultimate flexibility and best-in-breed user experience for our customers. Creating an enterprise grade no-code platform is no small feat, with thousands of individual features built into ReadiNow over the years, simply replacing all these features all at once would be impossible. Therefore ReadiNow Nova is not a single release, rather incremental monthly releases. ReadiNow Nova will start by introducing some brand new feature concepts in addition to updating certain features in the current ReadiNow UI (hereafter referred to as ‘ReadiNow Classic’).

In each monthly release, we will continue to release additional functionality based on user feedback and continue to update features in ReadiNow classic with new and improved versions in ReadiNow Nova.

See below the current transition plan to ReadiNow Nova.

NovaRollout2

The above rollout plan outlines how new features will be introduced and alignment to existing feature sets. Please note existing customer applications in ReadiNow Classic will continue to be supported, with Admins able to choose whether to incorporate new ReadiNow Nova features via configuration (see FAQ below for more info)

Phase 1

The objective of phase 1 is to start to introduce the first few features of ReadiNow Nova. Specifically, Pages and Page Builder will largely replace ‘screen builder’ and ‘navigation’ and also add many new features including Page Filter, Headings, Static Text, Binding and many more.

Whilst the concept of ‘Classic screens’ can be replaced with ‘Pages’, viewing and editing individual records will still be via the Classic Forms and most of the Classic Builders (form builder, report builder, chart builder) will remain the same during phase 1.

Pages are a new concept in ReadiNow. Imagine a blank canvas you can display anything, to get a perfect user interface for users. This is the objective of Pages! The first release will be introducing the framework of Page builder with core foundational components. Over time, this list of components will grow to create a feature rich, innovative and flexible user experience.

Some features of the Nova Page builders include:

  • New Layouts - Quickly create professional looking layouts with a drag & drop and a snap to grid building experience
  • Desktop/Tablet/Mobile Builders - switch between desktop, tablet and mobile view directly in the page builder to easily configure the user experience of each device medium
  • Filter - create a page filter to filter data across any component on that page (e.g. common filter across multiple charts and reports)
  • Components Binding - ability to link components together to build a dynamic experience.

Phase 2

Phase 2 will build on what is released in Phase 1 above and introduce a new concept of ‘Process Builder’. ReadiNow Process will enable you to easily configure an end-to-end business process that displays the progress directly to the user. The ReadiNow Process Builder will complement the existing Workflow engine to enable highly configurable business process automation.

Phase 3

The focus of phase 3 will introduce Nova Page Forms which provides a significant improvement in User experience and flexibility over classic forms.

Phase 4+

Phase 4 will be an ongoing focus on the continual improvement of features released in Phases 1, 2 & 3 as well as a focus on reimagining the Application Builder experience with a brand new feature set for creating and maintaining applications.

FAQ

What is ReadiNow Nova?

ReadiNow Nova is the name of the new User Experience of ReadiNow incorporating feedback from customers. This will not be one single release, rather incremental monthly releases, starting in Q4 2022. Each release may contain new types of UI components that can be utilised. These new features are new User Interface features only and does not change the structure of an application's data model.

Will current applications have to be automatically converted to Nova UI when released?

Nova UI is architected in a way to give customers the flexibility to decide on whether to use the new Nova Features or continue to use the existing UI (‘now named ReadiNow Classic’). Therefore, existing customer applications will not be automatically converted to Nova UI, rather customers can start to play with Nova features by building out new user interfaces using Nova features on top of their existing data model of their existing apps. Therefore, the following are possible:

  • A tenant can have one app in ReadiNow Classic and another with Nova on the same tenant.
  • A tenant can have the same application in Classic and Nova in parallel if they wish, and users can access each by different icons on landing page.

Is there any extra cost?

No. Nova is a part of ReadiNow’s continued commitment to innovate and evolve the platform to support its client base to leverage the best in agile no-code technology and lead the industry.

Will there be a conversion tool to convert existing apps to Nova?

Not initially. As Nova UI will be progressively released over many months, it will take multiple releases before all features of ReadiNow Classic are available in the Nova UI. Therefore, customers can start to utilise the available Nova Features as released by administrators responsible for configuration.
